Irina Gurevich is a Russian born American artist. She was trained as a painter on fine china and worked at the famous Imperial Porcelain Manufactory in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
Growing up in Saint Petersburg she had an opportunity to frequent the famous State Hermitage, one of the largest and oldest museums of the world. It is there where her artistic taste was formed by the works of great Renaissance artists such as Leonardo Da Vinci and Titian and by the classical works of Velazquez and El Greco to name a few.
After leaving Russia Irina had the opportunity to travel and visit museums around the World. There she found new inspirations. The artist who influenced her the most was an American artist John S. Sargent.
After moving to Austin, TX she began working with oil which became her favorite media.
